Repealing an Obsolete Amendment
There's no compelling moral or practical justification for "the right to bear arms." Unlike First Amendment freedoms, it does not secure in any way the things that are required of a democracy. It doesn't keep people safer. It doesn't keep people freer. It doesn't insure the blessings of liberty for ourselves or our posterity. In fact, it does exactly the opposite. It promotes fear, and silence, and it puts us all in daily danger from accident, impulse and rage. If it ever could have been justified, it no longer can be. Repeal is the only reasonable action.
