On Death and Suffering and the Justness of God
This is what I know:
Everything we are we are because we die
And never know for sure of any God or any heaven.
That if you wonder how God could allow suffering--
Death is made worse by suffering but there is no suffering
worse than death--
If death is allowed anything must be allowed.
If we did not die, we would not exist.
We want to let God off the hook.
If death is allowed the unrelievable suffering of the mind
Is allowed. Can eternal justice tolerate this?
I do not know. Today
The suffering is real. And yet
If death is allowed the unrelievable suffering of the mind
Is allowed. Can eternal justice tolerate this?
I do not know. Today
The suffering is real. And yet
If one morning I awake
to find this suffering
Is like the suffering of any nightmare--then
What?
What?
