No Love in Heaven

Proposition: there is no love in Heaven. 

I don't know what Heaven is really like or even whether it exists. But as popularly conceived, as conceived in most religious traditions that entertain the notion, Heaven is a place without pain or struggle. A place of perfect peace and happiness. In such a place there can be no empathy, no compassion, and therefore no love. Love is not something that is proven by adversity. It is created by it. If I cannot sacrifice self, if I cannot get out of myself for you, I cannot love.
